Bastidores ESCALA nº 33

Depois de ser entrevistado por ESCALA, o designer Tobias Fränzel enviou para a Redação algumas fotos dele. Não deu para publicar na revista, mas aqui vai uma delas. Com certeza, vai matar a curiosidade de muita gente que queria conhecer o visual do alemão.


After being interviewed by ESCALA, German designer Tobias Fränzel has sent us some of his portraits. They haven’t been published in the magazine, but here we show one of them. Certainly, it will help a lot of people who would like to see his face.

Na matéria de Heloisa Righetto — direto de Londres —, foram citados o mineiro Domingos Tótora e o seu banco “Solo” (na imagem abaixo). O produto é um dos 100 melhores projetos,  reunidos no Design Museum, na exposição Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2011. Em papelão reaproveitado, o móvel nos seduz pelo seu caráter sustentável e pelo acabamento impecável.  A exposição vai até 7 de agosto.


Domingos Totora (Brazil) and his creation, “Solo” bench (in the image below), were mentioned in Heloisa Righetto’s report — from London. The report is about an exhibition — Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2011 at Design Museum — that puts together the best design projects; approximately, 100 projects. Made of reused cardboard, “Solo” attracts us because it is a sustainable project and because of its perfect finishing. The exhibition will last until August 7^th.

Mais imagens do Everland, o hotel de um quarto só. A criação é do norte-americano Daniel Baumann e da suíça Sabina Lang. Eles inauguraram o hotel em 2002, na Suíça. De junho de 2006 até setembro de 2007, o hotel foi exposto na Alemanha (Museum of Contemporary Art Leipzig). Ainda em 2007, Everland foi suspenso por guindaste no céu de Paris. Foi instalado no telhado do Palais de Tokyo, com vista para a Torre Eiffel. O hotel, com quatro estrelas, ficou lá até 2009. Atualmente, não existem novos destinos planejados.


More images of Everland, the hotel of four stars but just one room. Created by Daniel Baumann (USA) and Sabina Lang (Switzerland), it was inaugurated in 2002, in Switzerland. From June 2006 until September 2007, the hotel was exhibited in Germany (Museum of Contemporary Art Leipzig). Still in 2007, Everland was lifted by crane in the sky of Paris. It was installed on the roof of Palais de Tokyo, and had a view of the Eiffel Tower. The hotel stayed there until 2009. New destinations? Nothing planned.
